A man was fatally struck by a vehicle while he was crossing lanes on I-53 Sunday afternoon in suburban Palatine.
Just before 5 p.m., state troopers responded to the northbound lanes of I-53 near Lake Cook Road where the 37-year-old man was struck by a Gray Tesla, Illinois state police said.
The man was taking to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead, state police said.
Northbound lanes of I-53 reopened around 8:20 p.m., officials said.
No additional information was immediately available.
