Bears-49ers injury report: WR DJ Moore, RB D'Andre Swift active

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Two of the Bears’ most reliable offensive players will suit up Sunday against the 49ers.

Receiver DJ Moore and running back D’Andre Swift, who hurt their quads against the Lions and were limited in practice Friday after sitting out all week, are active for the Bears.

Moore sounded confident about playing when asked Friday. He said he played through the injury against the Lions after being hurt early in the game,

“I play through everything,” he said.

Swift figures to get his regular usage. Backup Roschon Johnson is still in concussion protocol, leaving Travis Homer and Darrynton Evans, who was promoted from the practice squad on Saturday, as the team’s other options at the position.

Bears guard Ryan Bates is out with a concussion. Healthy scratches include receiver Tyler Scott, defensive end Dominique Robinson, safety Elijah Hicks, cornerback Ameer Speed and tackle Larry Borom.

The 49ers will be without some of their most valuable players. Running back Christian McCaffrey, left tackle Trent Williams and edge rusher Nick Bosa were all ruled out of the game earlier this week.

If Thomas Brown has been rehearsing his pregame speech, he’s not letting on.

Bears tackle Larry Borom blocks 49ers edge rusher Nick Bosa in Week 1.

He has hip and oblique injuries.

Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams #18 chats with new Offensive Coordinator Thomas Brown before the Bears take on the Green Bay Packers at Soldier Field, Sunday, Nov. 17, 2024.

Interim coach Thomas Brown will call plays from the sideline instead of the coach’s box — and handle the head-coaching duties. Defensive coordinator Eric Washington will call plays for the first time in the regular season after Matt Eberflus was fired.
