AC/DC launching first US stadium tour in 9 years, including Chicago concert date

For those about to rock, AC/DC has you covered.

The legendary rockers will return to the U.S. in the spring for their first headlining tour in nine years, playing 13 stadiums across the country.

The quintet of Angus Young, Brian Johnson, Stevie Young, Matt Laug and Chris Chaney will launch the Power Up run April 10 in Minneapolis and hit venues in cities including Las Vegas, Pittsburgh and Nashville. The tour arrives May 24 at Soldier Field in Chicago.

Tickets for the shows go on sale Dec. 6 at noon local time at acdc.com.

This is the first time the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers are playing an extended North American tour since the 2015-16 Rock or Bust outing, which necessitated Johnson stepping away from the band in its latter portion because of severe hearing loss. He was briefly replaced by Guns N’ Roses yowler Axl Rose, but returned to AC/DC in 2018 for the recording of 2020’s “Power Up” album.

The current lineup of the band reunited for the 2023 Power Trip festival in Indio, California, where they roared through classics including “Back in Black” and “Thunderstruck.”

A European leg of the Power Up tour commenced in May in Germany and played across Europe throughout the summer.

AC/DC’s “Power Up” album, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart in 2020 and spawned rock hits “Realize” and “Shot in the Dark,” landed Grammy nominations for best rock album and best rock performance for “Shot in the Dark.”
